Development & Training
At Brooks Kushman, we believe that outstanding work opportunities produce the best lawyers. New attorneys are given the flexibility to explore our firm and develop their own strengths and areas of interests while receiving a broad exposure to the firm's practice and our other lawyers. We do not follow a practice area rotation or assignment schedule. Our attorneys are allowed to challenge themselves with real work and the opportunity for client contact from day one.
Summer associates and young lawyers typically are paired with senior associates or partners with similar interests and backgrounds as mentors. The firm maintains a collegial, open-door environment in order to foster close working relationships among attorneys which we believe is the best way to learn to be a lawyer.
The firm also offers periodic, in-house educational programs to discuss new issues, procedures or rulings impacting our work and our clients. We also host annual retreats focused upon continuing legal education in specific practice areas and in the business of legal practice.
