Thursday, June 21, 2018

Southfield, Mich. South Asian Bar Association of North America (SABA North America), an organization that provides professional growth, promotes the civil rights and access to justice, diversity and inclusion to those in the South Asian legal community, is scheduled to host a panel of young attorneys during its 15th annual conference to discuss common issues faced by young lawyers, and to help develop pertinent career strategies across different practice areas.

Brooks Kushman Associate Isheeta Patel will be moderating the panel in New York on the morning of June 29, 2018. The panel consists of several other young attorneys from across the country, in various stages of practice, and the topics to be discussed include how to sustain a healthy lifestyle, propel into new areas of practice, and steer where you truly want your career to go without sounding entitled (a common millennial issue).

Patel is a registered patent attorney and focuses her practice on the preparation and prosecution of domestic patent applications in the chemical engineering and materials arts. She also has experience throughout the patent process providing reliable insight to clients regarding business-critical decisions such as whether to patent an inventive concept, whether they have the freedom to operate, the validity of granted patents, and determining the state of the art and any white space in a specific technology market.

Isheeta holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Juris Doctor from Ohio State University. She is also the President of the South Asian Bar Association of Michigan, and currently serves on the Board of Director’s for SABA North America.
