Erica Klein Receives BTI Client Service All-Star Award

Friday, March 29, 2019

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. –Brooks Kushman is pleased to announce that shareholder Erica D. Klein has been recognized by BTI Consulting as a 2019 Client Service All-Star. This award is given to only 335 attorneys in the United States.  The only way to be nominated is for corporate counsel to single out an attorney for client service exceeding all others.

Client Service All-Star results are based on over 350 in-depth, independent interviews with top legal decision makers from large and Fortune 1000 organizations. BTI Consulting has been interviewing C-level executives for decades and has determined five key factors that define a Client Service All-Star: superior client focus, unmatched client experience, understands the client’s business like no other, unparalleled legal skills and innovative thought leadership.

Klein joined Brooks Kushman earlier this year, relocating from New York City.  Klein brings more than 20 years of experience focused on the strategic development, management, and protection of intellectual property assets. Her practice covers a broad range of legal issues including trademark, copyright, social media, rights of publicity, and data privacy and protection. Klein has extensive experience structuring IP transactions, and regularly negotiates IP acquisition agreements, licenses, and other commercial arrangements implicating intellectual property rights. Klein’s work also includes managing domestic and international trademark portfolios, representing clients in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and general counseling.  Klein is regularly acknowledged for her professional passion, pragmatism, and business-oriented approach to problem solving.

Klein holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors degree with honors from Dartmouth College. She is the immediate past Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, and is also a member of the International Trademark Association.  Klein has been recognized by Thomson Reuters’ New York Super Lawyers for each of 2014-2018.
