Stephanie Mansfield Appointed Lead within BMES

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.Brooks Kushman registered patent agent Stephanie Mansfield has been appointed the Industry Committee Leadership Team Translation Lead within the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES). The focus of the Translation team is to foster translation of biomedical engineering knowledge between biomedical engineers in industry, academia, and clinical settings. In her role, Mansfield will be responsible for managing all team members, team communications, and development of all translation team programs, as well as providing input into the strategic direction of the committee moving forward. Mansfield has been involved with the BMES and the Industry Committee for 3 years.

Mansfield has two decades of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the biomedical and mechanical arts.  In her career with Brooks Kushman, she has worked with many biomedical technology clients, focusing on medical, orthopedic and biomechanical devices, tissue engineering and consumer products. Mansfield speaks regularly on intellectual property protection within the biomedical and medical device industries.

Mansfield holds a Doctorate and Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University.
