Richard is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. His practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the software, computer, electrical and mechanical arts. Richard counsels clients and drafts written opinions relating to patentability, non-infringement and invalidity, and provides support in litigation matters relating to intellectual property.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering: Systems from the University of Michigan, where he focused his studies on signal processing and communications.

Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, Richard worked as an associate attorney in Cincinnati, where he focused on patent prosecution and the preparation of patentability and freedom to operate opinions. Richard’s experience also includes a summer externship with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Richard is only registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the state of Ohio. < see less
