Sarah Urbance is an interdisciplinary mechanical and aeronautical engineer who performs prior art searches for patent prosecution, clearance opinions and patent validity studies.
Sarah supports attorneys in the patent process by providing data to clients which strengthens their position in determining whether to patent an inventive concept, whether they have freedom to operate, the state of the art of a specific technology market and if there is any white space within that technology market.
Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, Sarah spent over a decade working in the gas turbine industry as a project engineer and program manager. In these roles, she was responsible for the cross-functional planning and management of software and hardware development programs for defense applications.
Outside the office, Sarah spends her time volunteering with Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She also enjoys baking and playing board games with her husband and her two children.
