Dr. Junqi Hang recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal Annual List

Southfield, Mich., September 28, 2011 – Dr. Junqi “Jean” Hang, patent attorney at Brooks Kushman P.C., has been honored by Profiles in Diversity Journal as one of their 2012 “Women Worth Watching.”  Dr. Hang joins other leading women executives around the country who have been nominated by their colleagues, peers, and mentors to recognize and celebrate achievements in their fields and communities.

Dr. Hang`s profile, which will be featured in the September/October issue of Profiles in Diversity Journal, highlights the many skills she has acquired and the lessons she has learned over her impressive twelve years of experience in the biomedical industry, in addition to those spent practicing law.

As an associate in Brooks Kushman`s Southfield, Michigan headquarters, Dr. Hang prepares and prosecutes patent applications in biotechnology and the pharmaceutical sciences industry.  She is active in client counseling, legal opinion preparation, and patent litigation support.  Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Dr. Hang also focuses her practice on managing Chinese patent portfolios.

Dr. Hang is a patent attorney registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association.  She was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Chinese Association of Greater Detroit, a non-profit organization with initiatives to promote the bonding and synergy between the Chinese and American communities.

Dr. Hang received a Ph.D. in biochemistry and physiology from Wayne State University School of Medicine and her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.  Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, she was a research scientist at Pfizer/Warner Lambert.
