Brooks Kushman Attorney Michael Brodbine and Bosch Chief IP Jeremy Hargis to teach Patent Law at Wayne State University

Brooks Kushman attorney Michael Brodbine and VP & Chief IP Counsel for the Bosch Group in North America Jeremy Hargis will be Adjunct Professors this Fall semester at Wayne State University Law School.

They will be teaching ‘Introduction to Contemporary Patent Law’, an upper-level course. In this course, Brodbine and Hargis will guide students to develop an understanding of the current state of patent law in the United States. They will also be teaching them the analytical skills needed to evaluate the standards by which inventions can be patented and enforced in the U.S.

Michael Brodbine is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and also serves as Co-Chair of Patent Prosecution at the firm. Brodbine is a strong advocate for continuing legal education (CLE) and leads the firm’s claim drafting class, which trains new patent professionals at the firm. Outside of the firm he has also been an instructor for the Patent Resources Group (PRG) and has also previously assisted Wayne State University Law School with its Patent Procurement Clinic.

Jeremy Hargis is a Vice President at Robert Bosch LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, and is Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for the Bosch Group in North America, a privately owned multinational conglomerate of companies operating across multiple industries, to which it is one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers.  Hargis has taught as an Adjunct Professor in prior semesters in Patent Prosecution, a three-credit course at Wayne State University Law School. He previously taught this class during the Fall semester of the 2015-2016 school year and repeated teaching in Winter from 2016-2017. At this time, he was teaching alongside Brooks Kushman attorney, Thomas Lewry.
