The Juristat ranking of the best patent firms is unique because both volume and performance are considered. Juristat based its analysis of over 7 million patent applications filed or disposed between July 2015 and June 2016 using a weighted average of four criteria: total number of applications filed, allowance rate, average number of office actions to allowance, and average time to allowance. Only firms that filed at least 200 applications between July 2015 and June 2016 were included in the analysis.
