Brooks Kushman President Featured in X-ology Magazine

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman President Mark Cantor was featured in Xology Magazine in the publication’s Expert Outlook section in. Cantor authored the article “What’s Next for Software Patents,” which ran in Xology’s January issue.

In the article, Cantor discusses the Supreme Court’s June 2014 ruling, Alice Corp., Pty. v. CLS Bank Int’l, its affects on software-related patents and best practices to effectively protect intellectual property related to software.

According to Cantor, “Software and computer technology companies should not give up on patents” because of the Alice ruling. “On the other hand, Alice should cause companies to reassess their strategies for protecting software technology.”

Cantor is one of the founders of Brooks Kushman, and has been instrumental in the firm’s growth. He is co-chair of the Brooks Kushman litigation practice, focusing on complex litigation matters in all technology areas in his practice.
