SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman Shareholder Kristin Murphy was featured in Crain’s Detroit Business’ July 14, 2015 article, “Michigan, U.S. utility patents continue to rise.”
In the article, Murphy discusses utility patents and the growing number of patents awarded in Michigan and throughout the Great Lakes region. According to Murphy, “A utility patent has to be useful to someone. It must be functional and not just look pretty.”
Murphy’s practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property. She advises companies of all sizes on the development of their patent and trademark portfolios, brand enforcement and patent litigation.
Murphy holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Western New England University. She also serves as a member of the Western New England University Board of Trustees.
