SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman is pleased to announce that Shareholder Kristin Murphy received the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan’s (WLAM) Regional Leadership Award. WLAM will present the award during its 97th Annual Meeting on April 24, 2015 at the College of Creative Studies in Detroit.
The Regional Leadership Award recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of a WLAM member who has demonstrated professionalism, excellence and dedication to furthering the objectives of WLAM.
Murphy’s practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property. She advises companies of all sizes on the development of their patent and trademark portfolios, brand enforcement and patent litigation.
Murphy earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Western New England University, where she is a member of the Board of Trustees.
She also serves as the immediate past president of the Women’s Bar Association of Oakland County, president of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association and is a member of the advisory council for The Pink Fund, a Michigan-based charity aiding women and men battling breast cancer.
