Detroit Cristo Rey High School Graduate and Brooks Kushman Work Study Student Featured in Detroit Free Press

Southfield, Mich. – Detroit Cristo Rey High School graduate and Brooks Kushman work study student, Anti`Shay Taylor was recently quoted in the Detroit Free Press article, “In Detroit, New School`s 1st Graduates Set Their Sights on College.”  According to the article, Taylor was one of 46 students from the class of 2012 to graduate as the first graduates from the school.  All 46 were accepted to college. 

The Corporate Work Study Program is designed to give the Cristo Rey students the opportunity to spend one day a week working at a local business and the other four days a week in the classroom.  Brooks Kushman is one of many local businesses working with the Detroit Cristo Rey High School and the Brooks Kushman student team consists of four students that satisfy a 40 hour work week.  The student team at Brooks Kushman includes Taylor as well as Celina Ortiz, Wesley Striggles and Teojineya Tomlin.
