ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Brooks Kushman is proud to announce that Sangeeta Shah and Frank were both named in the latest edition of IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists by IAM. This unique guide lists the individuals that have been shown to possess world-class skills in the development and roll-out of strategies that maximize the value of patents, copyright, trademarks, and other IP rights.

Selection for the Strategy 300 is based on rigorous peer recognition: only individuals who received multiple independent nominations were considered, ensuring that every name on the list represents excellence, influence, and impact in the field. These professionals are celebrated for their ability to transform intellectual property into strategic business value, driving innovation and delivering measurable results across industries and continents. This year’s list, with 13% more nominations than the 2024 edition, features strategists from global corporations, top-tier service providers, research institutions, and universities whose work ranges from high-stakes transactions to monetization strategies generating extraordinary returns. IAM’s research team conducted in-depth interviews with senior IP executives across North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as leading third-party providers, to identify the most influential and impactful IP leaders.

Sangeeta Shah is the President of Brooks Kushman, leading the firm’s Executive Committee and driving its strategic vision. In her first year, she expanded the practice by bringing on several new attorneys and spearheading initiatives to strengthen the firm’s infrastructure, positioning it for long-term growth. In addition to her leadership role, Sangeeta maintains an active practice with more than 20 years of experience managing patent portfolios, PTAB matters, patent litigation, and opinions. As an early leader in inter partes review proceedings, she serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s post-grant practice and works closely with Fortune 500 clients, providing strategic counseling on post-grant matters and complex global intellectual property portfolios. Her expertise has earned national recognition from Managing IP, Best Lawyers, IAM, AIPLA, and the PTAB Bar Association.

Prior to becoming President, Sangeeta served as CEO of Brooks Kushman, where she guided strategic planning, advanced client-focused initiatives, and expanded the firm’s presence beyond Michigan to markets such as Silicon Valley, Chicago, Los Angeles, Germany, and Asia. She developed mentoring and training programs, built niche expertise in emerging areas, and implemented advanced technology and analytics tools to enhance client service. As the firm’s former Chief Diversity Officer, she launched a range of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that earned recognition from ChIPs and Diversity Lab and achieved Midsize Mansfield Certified Plus status. She also hosts the Breaking Mindsets Podcast, where she interviews leaders who challenge expectations and drive meaningful change.

Frank Angileri focuses his practice on IP litigation and post-grant proceedings. He is well-known by clients and colleagues for his strategies to resolve complex and high-stakes IP issues. With nearly more than 30 years of experience representing small, medium-sized, and large corporations in contested IP matters, Angileri has successfully tried patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright cases in Federal Courts nationwide, the Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Federal Circuits, and the International Trade Commission. His litigation experience spans a wide range of technologies and industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, industrial technologies, food and beverage, and home appliances.

Angileri previously served as President of Brooks Kushman and as Co-Chair of the firm’s Post-Grant Proceedings practice. In these roles, he was instrumental in strengthening the firm’s national reputation, successfully representing clients in more than 70 IP rights proceedings and obtaining final written decisions from the PTAB holding 273 patent claims unpatentable. His leadership helped the firm stay ahead of industry changes, invest in innovative resources to maximize the value of clients’ IP assets, and deliver services in a highly efficient and streamlined manner.
