Shareholder John LeRoy to Speak at George Washington University Law School Global Anti-Corruption and Compliance Program

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman shareholder John LeRoy will be presenting at the Institute for U.S. Law Global Anti-Corruption and Compliance program in Washington D.C. on March 8, 2019 at the George Washington University Law School. His presentation will focus on compliance strategies for open source software in manufacturing and tech industries.

The International Compliance & Anti-Corruption program goal is to advance relevant knowledge and best practices in the fields of governance, risk and compliance, anti-bribery, financial crime prevention, anti-money laundering (AML), and several related areas. Practitioners from around the world will be attending and teaching at the program, and the seminars will focus on concrete steps and best practices for practitioners to apply to their companies, countries or clients.

With over 20 years of software, patent and copyright litigation experience, LeRoy is consistently recognized for his IP management strategies and work in the courtroom. LeRoy leverages his electrical engineering and legal background to create efficient solutions to complex legal issues in the computer industry. He also started the firm’s Open Source Software Compliance practice, where he has been working with corporations to navigate the proper use of open source software in today’s products. He has been recognized for his commitment to pro bono service and his history of success in federal courts nationwide. He is the Co-Chair of Brooks Kushman’s litigation department, and was recently recognized as Michigan IP Litigator of the Year.
