Verizon Loses First Round With RIAA; ISPs Brace for More Subpoenas

Tom Lewry is quoted in this article from the June 16, 2003, issue of Telephony about the Recording Industry Association of America’s (RIAA) seemingly cautious pursuit of Internet music piracy.

Lewry commented, “(The RIAA) may be out looking for specific customers to take action against. What they really want to do is send a message, not sue everyone who downloads a song from a file-sharing service.” Earlier this year, Lewry represented four college students sued by RIAA for copyright infringement.
