Share

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman shareholder Anna Robinson is speaking to students at the College for Creative Studies on Thursday, April 4, 2019 about legal issues for artists at the invitation of Creative Many, a statewide organization that works to develop and connect creative people, creative places and the creative economy. Robinson’s workshop will focus on the different types of intellectual property protection, common misconceptions about fair use and the public domain, consequences of posting your work on social media, visual artists’ rights, agreements and more.

Robinson’s practice focuses on trademark and copyright protection and enforcement, and entertainment law. She has a background in theatre performance and a passion for the arts. After working in the entertainment industry, she realized that she could make a greater impact as an attorney, representing the rights of businesses, artists and creative professionals. In 2016, she was named an Up & Coming Lawyer by Michigan Lawyers Weekly for her leadership within the legal community and her dedication to supporting local artists.

Robinson participates in the Lawyers for the Creative Economy Initiative through Creative Many Michigan as a volunteer lawyer, providing pro-bono and low-cost services to qualifying local artists. She is also an active member of the Arts, Communications, Entertainment and Sports section of the Michigan Bar, formerly serving as Chair of the section, and is a member of the Copyright Society of the USA, Midwest Chapter.
