Addition of Attorneys Rebecca J. Cantor and Nathan A. Reed, Ph.D., Further Expands Brooks Kushman’s Life Sciences and Biotechnology Industry Strengths

Southfield, Mich. – Intellectual property law firm Brooks Kushman P.C. is pleased to announce that Rebecca J. Cantor and Nathan A. Reed, Ph.D., have joined the firm, growing Brooks Kushman`s depth of experience and expertise in the Life Sciences and Biotech Groups. Both attorneys bring years of experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology sectors, which will help strengthen the firm`s patent prosecution, opinion and IP litigation expertise in these areas. These attorneys will boost Brooks Kushman`s growing resources in these industries.

With more than fourteen years of experience in microbiology and biomedical research and application, Dr. Reed prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and biotechnology sectors, and is active in client counseling, opinions and patent litigation. He holds a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology & Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Michigan Medical School, a postdoctoral fellowship in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences from the University of Michigan W.K. Kellogg Eye Center, and a J.D., cum laude from Michigan State University.

Rebecca Cantor focuses her practice on patent litigation involving pharmaceuticals and other life sciences technologies. She also brings experience in false advertising, Hatch-Waxman, and copyright infringement litigation. Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, Rebecca was a patent litigator at Vinson & Elkins LLP in New York. She has a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan, a Masters of Engineering in Pharmaceutical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a B.S.E., magna cum laude, in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
