Brooks Kushman’s Hang Named to Board of Chinese Association of Greater Detroit

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 15, 2011Brooks Kushman Associate Junqi Hang, Ph.D. was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Chinese Association of Greater Detroit. During her three year term, Hang will help direct the non-profit organization`s initiatives to promote the bonding and synergy between the Chinese community and the American mainstream.

“I am honored to be elected to the board of directors of the Chinese Association of Greater Detroit, the largest Chinese community group in the metro-Detroit area,” Hang said. “Since 1992, the organization has been a leader in fostering community unity and organizing value-added events for the community. I look forward to helping further develop the organization`s already successful programs and initiatives.”

With more than 12 years of experience in biomedical research and application, Hang prepares and prosecutes chemical and biological patent applications at Brooks Kushman. Fluent in Mandarin, Hang also has an active practice managing Chinese patent portfolios, counseling clients, preparing legal opinions and supporting with patent litigation.

Hang earned a doctorate degree in biochemistry and physiology from Wayne State University School of Medicine and a juris doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biotechnology from Shanghai Jiao-Tong University in China. She is a registered patent attorney and member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association.

The Chinese Association of Greater Detroit (CAGD) was established in 1992. CAGD is a non-profit and non-religious independent organization registered in the State of Michigan. The association is primarily comprised of professionals with Chinese heritage working and living in the metropolitan Detroit area, but is open to other qualified non-Chinese candidates.
