LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Brooks Kushman shareholder Bob Berliner was recently elected Chairman of the Senior Lawyers Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. His term as Chairman begins on July 1, 2019. In this role, he will provide leadership and oversight to the Senior Lawyers section of the organization and the various events it plans for its members throughout the year.
Berliner has over 50 years of patent prosecution experience, and works with companies around the world on the management of patent portfolios. He is based in Brooks Kushmans’ Los Angeles office. Berliner has close familiarity with the special needs of University patent portfolios, and in assisting in the formation and operations of early stage companies, and also, has served as arbitrator in significant trade secret, contract, and biotech and pharmaceutical patent disputes. His experience also covers a broad range of technologies, including organic and inorganic chemistry, polymers, petroleum chemistry, biotechnology, solid state electronics, physics, optics, and biomedical and other devices. Berliner has been a member of the LA County Bar Association for 50 years, and has been an Executive Committee member of the Senior Lawyers Section since 2008.
Along with his involvement with LA County Bar Association, Berliner is a Founding Director of the Southern California Biomedical Council, and has been an active member for many years as a Board member.
