SOUTHFIELD, Mich., – Brooks Kushman Shareholder John Rondini was invited to join the board of the Michigan Intellectual Property (IP) Inn of Court, an organization dedicated to promoting excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills within the legal profession. Rondini is the Events Chair of the organization and is joining Brooks Kushman shareholders Chanille Carswell (board member for 3 years) and Marc Lorelli (board member for 2 years) on the Michigan Inn leadership team. The Michigan Inn serves as an intellectual property-focused chapter of the American Inns of Court. The Michigan Inn meets multiple times throughout the year to fellowship and host informative programs about current issues and developments in trademark, patent, copyright and trade secret law.
Rondini helped develop and is the Co-Chair of Brook Kushman’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy group. He has also represented client’s litigation matters at the district court and appellate level, before the International Trade Commission, and also has extensive litigation experience with Post-Grant Proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Rondini has also assisted in managing the patent prosecution docket for clients that range from Fortune 500 companies to individual inventors.
Carswell is the Co-Chair of Litigation at Brooks Kushman and focuses her practice on all aspects of intellectual property litigation from the inception of a case through trial, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and settlement negotiations. She has litigated cases across the country, and also represents clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Carswell is dedicated to advancing diversity & inclusion in the legal industry and is involved with the Corporate Counsel Women of Color and was a 2016 Fellow with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
Lorelli is the Co-Chair of Brooks Kushman’s Litigation practice. Throughout his career, he has successfully tried patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright cases in Federal Courts nationwide. Lorelli also has extensive litigation experience with Post-Grant Proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, Lorelli was a patent agent at an automotive corporation, and his work experience in both mechanical and chemical engineering allows him to handle cases involving many different technologies.
