SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman shareholder John LeRoy will be speaking on a panel at IP Counsel Café is hosting their Annual Silicon Valley Conference in Palo Alto. LeRoy’s panel will focus on recent developments, security concerns, and best practices for ensuring compliance with Open Source Software. IP Counsel Café is a conference that focuses on how to create and protect IP in in a constantly globalizing marketplace. The agenda will also cover emerging technology, collective licensing as an alternative to litigation, trade secrets, new leadership in the USPTO and more.

With over 15 years of software, patent and copyright litigation experience, LeRoy was recognized for his IP management strategies and work in the courtroom. LeRoy leverages his electrical engineering and legal background to create efficient solutions to complex legal issues in the computer industry. He also started the firm’s Open Source Software Compliance practice, where he has been working with corporations to navigate the proper use of open source software in today’s products. He has been recognized for his commitment to pro bono service and his history of success in federal courts nationwide. He was also recently recognized as Michigan IP Litigator of the Year.
