SOUTHFIELD, Mich., – Brooks Kushman attorney William Thomson was recently elected President of the Pasadena Museum of History (PMH). As a former Mayor of Pasadena and a longtime advocate of the Museum, Thomson has been on the Board of the PMH since 2011. He has served on many standing Board committees, including the Lease and Land Committee, the Nominating Committee, and the Executive Committee. He also, along with his wife Carol, served as Event Chair for the Museum’s 2016 and 2017 Galas.

In his new role, Thomson hopes to help the PMH gain recognition throughout Southern California and beyond. He believes the Museum is one of Pasadena’s best kept secrets, and looks forward to educating others about its mission, programs and resources.

Thomson has years of leadership experience and community involvement, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center, and is a Board member and Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign for the Huntington Medical Research Institute (“HMRI”).

Professionally, Thomson focuses his practice on litigating a broad spectrum of complex patent and other intellectual property cases, particularly pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and computer technology matters. An accomplished trial lawyer, Thomson has represented major clients in jury and court trials, before the International Trade Commission, and abroad with Asian and European based clients. He also counsels clients on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and licensing matters, and is a frequent lecturer on intellectual property issues.

Thomson earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University, and his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
