Brooks Kushman Shareholder Kristin Murphy to present at Detroit Entrepreneur Week Small Business Legal Academy

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman Shareholder Kristin Murphy will present during Detroit Entrepreneur Week’s Small Business Legal Academy on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. 

Murphy will serve on a panel with some of Detroit’s leading legal professionals committed to advancing the revitalization of the city and region by providing ideas and direction to early-stage entrepreneurs. The panel will cover intellectual property (IP) issues for entrepreneurs to consider for sustainable business growth. 

Murphy’s practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property. She advises companies of all sizes on the development of their patent and trademark portfolios, brand enforcement and patent litigation. 

Murphy earned her Juris Doctor and LLM in Intellectual Property from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Western New England University, where she is a member of the Board of Trustees. 

She has also served as the president of the Women’s Bar Association of Oakland County, president of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association and is a current member of the advisory council for inGAGE, Inforum Center for Leadership’s strategy to position Michigan as the Midwest hub for high-growth, high-tech women entrepreneurs.
