SOUTHFIELD, Mich. Brooks Kushman shareholders Erica Klein and Anna Robinson published an article for the American Bar Association’s Landslide® publication.

Their article, “Combating Online Infringement: Real World Solutions for an Evolving Digital World,” they discuss how the rapid evolution of the internet-based technology in the past decade has introduced unprecedented opportunities for business growth coupled with new potential for infringement or violation of a company’s intellectual property (IP) rights. The article explores the wide landscape of online infringement from what it is, why it matters, and some basic best practices you can use to protect your business.

Erica Klein has more than 20 years of experience, focusing on the strategic development, management, and protection of intellectual property assets. Klein’s practice covers a broad range of legal issues including trademark, copyright, social media, rights of publicity, and data privacy and protection. Klein has extensive experience structuring IP transactions, and regularly negotiates IP acquisition agreements, licenses, and other commercial arrangement implicating intellectual property rights. Klein’s practice also includes managing domestic and international trademark portfolios, representing clients in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and general counseling. Klein is regularly acknowledged for her professional passion, pragmatism, and business-oriented approach to problem solving.

Anna Robinson’s practice focuses on trademark and copyright protection and enforcement, as well as entertainment law. Robinson has diverse experience managing clients’ trademark and copyright portfolios, negotiating agreements, and protecting and defending intellectual property rights. A former chair of the State Bar of Michigan, Arts Communications Entertainment & Sports (“ACES”) Section, Robinson remains dedicated to the Section, currently serving on the Board as Ex-Officio.
