ROYAL OAK, Michigan – Brooks Kushman is excited to welcome Maddy Withers, Hope Techlin, Junwon Lee and Ram Soundararajan, Nick Carr as our 2026 Summer Associates!
Madeline Withers is a 3L at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she was recently appointed Director of Education, Advocacy, and Outreach on the Moot Court Board of Advocates. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science – Prelaw, with a minor in Law, Justice & Public Policy, from Michigan State University. Maddy has been with Brooks Kushman since 2022, first as a paralegal in the Litigation Department, and later as a Summer Associate and law clerk during the school year.
Hope Techlin is completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where she is earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. She is active in the University of Michigan Collegiate Figure Skating Team and the Multidisciplinary Design Program and will be attending law school this fall. This is Hope’s second summer with the firm.
Junwon Lee is a 3L at Wayne State University Law School and is active in several student associations. He studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering and joined Brooks Kushman earlier this year as a law clerk before returning this summer as a Summer Associate.
Ram Soundararajan is a 3L at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he serves as Co-Vice President of the Intellectual Property Law Society. He earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and his MBA from the University of Massachusetts. Ram has also been a licensed patent agent since 2003.
Nick Carr is a 1L at the University of Michigan Law School. He earned his BS in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan, as well as an MS in Computer Science and a certificate in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Colorado Boulder.
