SOUTHFIELD, Michigan– Brooks Kushman is excited to welcome Marla Spain, Ph.D., and Yasmeen Moradshahi as our newest Technical Specialists. Both are incredibly knowledgeable in their field of specialty, and we are thrilled to have them on our team!
Marla Spain, Ph.D., is a technical specialist who focuses her practice on patent prosecution support in the life sciences practices. Spain has an in-depth background in molecular biology and genetics. Prior to joining the firm, Spain was a research associate at Wayne State University School of Medicine Center for Molecular Medicine and Genetics, where she worked to understand the molecular mechanisms of retinal degeneration and regeneration. Spain earned her Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Oakland University. Her thesis focused on the basics of gene regulation, specifically understanding how chromatin remodeling factors regulate gene expression.
Yasmeen Moradshahi is a driven specialist in electrical engineering. She focuses her practice on patent prosecution support. Prior to joining the firm, Moradshahi was working at a large automotive company receiving hands-on experience in the manufacturing controls simulation lab, diesel launch team, and working on patent profiling in the IP department. She received her bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Kettering University.
