SOUTHFIELD, Michigan – Brooks Kushman Attorney Erin Bowles will be representing the firm in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Sustainable Partnership Program (SPP) in the Midwest this year.

The LCLD SPP program provides opportunities for diverse, newly elected law firm partners and senior associates to reach the next step on the professional development ladder. These attorneys, who may have fewer opportunities to develop critical mentoring and sponsorship relationships, convene with in-house attorney decision-makers from the same geography. Participants meet formally over the course of three group meetings and informally once per quarter in pairs through a Peer Partnership Program established during one of the sessions.

The participating in-house attorneys benefit from the networks they cultivate with outside lawyers who keep them aware of industry development. Participating law firm attorneys benefit from both the opportunity to establish important business relationships that foster mutual trust and the access to senior in-house attorneys who can provide substantive feedback as these law firm attorneys continue to build books of business to succeed within their firms.

Bowles is a registered patent attorney with 15 years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications for mechanical and electrical products and preparing patent clearance opinions. She is also a member of Brooks Kushman’s post-grant practice group. Bowles is active with the firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts including the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), serving as a Fellow, Detroit City Lead, and Pathfinder Mentor.
