SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman is pleased to announce that Principal Lissi Mojica has been listed in Intellectual Asset Management`s (IAM) annual IAM Strategy 300, a guide that recognizes those who are leaders in their community and leaders in the development and implementation of strategies that maximize the value of IP portfolios. The publication is unique because it is the only media platform whose main focus is on intellectual property as a business asset.

“It is an honor to be listed alongside of so many other fantastic leaders in the growth and change of intellectual property,” said Mojica. “Being listed in IAM Strategy 300 reflects the great work that Brooks Kushman is doing to make a permanent impact on the world of IP.”

Mojica is recognized as a globally known leader in post-grant proceedings. Her practice includes all aspects of post-grant proceedings, and she specializes in appeals to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial (USPTO) and Appeal Board. She also focuses on patent quality and patent examination matters.

Before moving to the private sector, Mojica acted as an examiner with the USPTO for nearly 20 years. In that position, she launched and became the director of the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU), which works to safeguard the quality and consistency of reexamination proceedings and to reduce pendency.

According to IAM, the annual guide is compiled through an extensive amount of research, including face-to-face and phone interviews. Recommendations from former honorees and other confidential recommendations, of which three people must be outside the recommended professional’s organization, are also used to consider honorees. Not all who are nominated are awarded, each person must be thoroughly vetted and researched to be considered in addition to the nomination.
