Brooks Kushman Hosts Intellectual Property Panel at Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition

Southfield, Mich. – To help start-up companies understand the importance and value of intellectual property (IP), Brooks Kushman Shareholder Sangeeta Shah will host an IP panel at the Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition, which the firm is also sponsoring.

The panel will take place on November 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Ms. Shah will lead a panel of Metro Detroit technology and start-up leaders in a discussion on the growth of technology companies and start-ups in the region.

“We had a great turn out at our panel last year,” said Ms. Shah. “We’re looking forward to assisting this year’s companies with any questions they have regarding intellectual property. The Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition provides such a fantastic opportunity for these businesses, we’re happy to give them all of the advice we have to offer.”

Ms. Shah is Brooks Kushman’s co-chair of post-grant proceedings and chief diversity officer. Her practice is primarily focused on post-grant challenges and patent opinions.
