Brooks Kushman P.C. Elects Two New Shareholders

Southfield, Mich. – Brooks Kushman is pleased to announce the election of Benjamin C. Stasa and Michael D. Turner as shareholders of the firm.

Ben focuses his practice on preparing, prosecuting, and advising on patents in the areas of software, computer organization, networks, solid state electronics, electronic circuits, and communications. He has particular expertise in the areas of operating systems, database systems, and networking and distributed systems, as well as multi-core and parallel architectures, VLSI and digital circuits, and low power circuits. Ben has been recognized as an “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and a “Top Patent Prosecutor” by The Patent Research Review. Ben is an honors graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, and a former judicial intern to the Honorable Gerald E. Rosen of the Eastern District of Michigan. He holds master’s degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Business Administration, and has pursued postgraduate studies in Computer and Information Science. Ben is a registered patent attorney and a member of the bar for the State of Michigan and the Federal District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan.

Mike`s practice focuses on domestic and foreign patent prosecution for mechanical matters, electromechanical matters, electromechanical systems, business methods, and designs. His practice also includes appellate advocacy before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, patent reexaminations, client counseling, intellectual property portfolio management, preparation of legal opinions, Technical and design support, trade secrets, developing strategies for economically achieving international protection, and other intellectual property related services. Mike`s background in Machine design and automation provides him with experience in various technologies and manufacturing processes. Mike has been named a “Rising Star” for Intellectual Property by Michigan Super Lawyers and is active in the firms mentoring program. Mike graduated from Wayne State University Law School and GMI Engineering and Management Institute (now Kettering University). Mike is a registered patent attorney and a member of the bar for the State of Michigan and the Federal District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan.
