Brooks Kushman Shareholder Marc Lorelli to Speak at Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association Luncheon

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Brooks Kushman Shareholder Marc Lorelli will be speaking at the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) January Luncheon. In his presentation titled, “The ‘Other’ Judicially Created Patentability Exception: Design Patent Functionality,” he will discuss recent Federal Circuit design cases and the implications for those acquiring and enforcing design patents in their intellectual property strategy.

Lorelli is the Co-Chair of Brooks Kushman’s intellectual property litigation practice. Throughout his career, Lorelli has successfully tried patent, trademark, and trade secret copyright cases in the Federal Courts nationwide. He has also practiced before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and the International Trade Commission. Lorelli also has extensive experience with post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office including re-examination and inter partes review.

The Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) is an association of intellectual property attorneys, patent agents, and law students from across the State of Michigan who are interested in patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property issues.
