Brooks Kushman Shareholder Named “Woman in the Law” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly

Southfield, Mich. – Brooks Kushman is pleased to announce that Shareholder Elizabeth “Libby” Janda has been named among Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Women in the Law.” This award recognizes 30 women in Michigan’s legal community for their commitment to excellence in the practice of law, leadership in the profession, mentoring and dedication to volunteerism and pro bono activities.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly will recognize the 2015 Women in the Law at an awards luncheon on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Detroit Marriott in Troy, Michigan. The winner of the publication’s “Woman of the Year” award will also be announced at the luncheon.

“Libby continuously shows her leadership skills in our firm as well as in the community,” said Brooks Kushman President Mark Cantor. “Her work has been crucial to the development and expansion of our trademark practice, and we are thrilled to see her recognized as a ‘Woman in the Law.’”

Janda serves as the chair of Brooks Kushman’s trademark practice, managing substantial trademark portfolios both domestically and internationally. She works with clients in a variety of industries including automotive, restaurants and food products, advertising and marketing, insurance, finance and consumer products.

Janda holds a Juris Doctor from Loyola University in Chicago as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

Janda is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Intellectual Property Association and serves on the International Trademark Association’s U.S. Subcommittee of the Famous & Well-Known Marks Committee and the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Board of Trustees.
