SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—This May, Brooks Kushman participated in the Walk MS in Detroit, MI: Detroit 2017 benefitting the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. The walk focuses on building awareness of MS while fueling the advancements towards finding a cure. With the help of Brooks Kushman attorneys and staff, and the support of their family and friends, the team raised over $5,000, exceeding their goal for this year.

More than 15,000 Michiganders are living with an MS diagnosis, and numerous Brooks Kushman staff members have a personal connection to or know someone affected by the disease. As Co-Captains of the team, Brooks Kushman attorneys Molly Crandall and Hope Shovein, have led the charge to raise awareness and gather donations for the past several years. Molly first began supporting Walk MS in 2005, prior to her time at Brooks Kushman, and continued her efforts alongside Hope in 2008. With the help of over 50 donors, 30 of which were donors from the Brooks Kushman staff, the team exceeded their goal to impact groundbreaking research. As Walk MS continues to grow and expand, one thing remains the same for all who participate and continue to support these efforts here at Brooks Kushman, “It’s about comradery between family, friends, and co-workers who all team up to support a great cause,” said Molly. “That is my favorite part.”

While there is currently no cure for MS, there have been great advancements in the treatment of it in recent years.  The National MS Society makes MS research its highest priority, and BK is proud to be a part of making this research possible. For more information on how you can join Brooks Kushman’s efforts to support the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, please click here.
