SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Best Practices in Intellectual Property (BPIP) is hosting its sixth annual conference in Tel Aviv. The conference, IP Management: Today’s Global Issues, updates attendees on global  IP issues, trends and legislation. It also demonstrates practical tools, methods and new ideas that can be applied to growing and strengthening a company’s IP portfolio.  The sessions have a particular focus on IP portfolio management and strategy. Brooks Kushman shareholders Erin Bowles,  John Halan, Sangeeta Shah and Robyn Lederman will participate in the conference and will host a Master Class to share innovative strategies that have been successfully tested in the changing patent landscape in the USA.

The BK team will present on “Accelerations, Examinations US and EU Tips and Tricks” and “How to Implement an Effective Trade Secret Policy” for Israeli companies on both sides of the ocean.

Counsel from innovative Israeli companies will participate in the BK Master Class to take a comprehensive look at the current interplay between post-grant mechanisms, prosecution and litigation and review the latest best practices to achieve IP goals for their companies.  The BK team will share little-known offensive measures that a patent owner can deploy to offset the risk of an IPR or even revive enforcement strategy in the face of an adverse IPR decision.  On the defensive side, the Class will review tips for employing IPRs and advancing arguments to improve invalidity and non-infringement positions and wreak havoc with a plaintiff’s enforcement program. Overall, to learn what strategic patent initiatives can be implemented to complement the end game.
